Psalm 25:14
14 The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.
The closer I get to God through His Word and prayer the more I realize He doesn’t keep secrets from me. Sure, there are plenty of things only God knows this side of heaven, but what I’m talking about are the plans God has for my life. My purpose, dreams, and ambitions. The answer to why I was born in the first place.
For years I struggled with these questions as I tried to figure out an explanation for all of life’s twists and turns. Have you ever felt like your life is shrouded in a fog of mystery?
You know a path is laid out for you but it's hazy and uncertain.
A strange thing happened as I began down the path that brought me closer to God...the fog began to lift! A flicker of light appeared and the more I walked toward the Lord the brighter the light shined. His light! When I made the intentional decision to stop trying to figure out the future and just trust in the guidance of the Lord FOR my future, I began to see more clearly.
Please hear me, this was not an overnight discovery. It is part of my journey, and I am sharing the results with you. Stop looking for a magic pill outside of God that will fix everything and give you purpose. Instead, begin a daily practice of time in God’s Word and prayerful conversation with the Lord. Stop trying to figure out the reason for everything in your life and place your hope in the Creator of everything.
Let me be clear, you need to let your relationship with Jesus take root. Water it. Cultivate it. Let it grow every single day...and watch how clear your purpose becomes.
The goal of my relationship with God was not to receive “clarity” and answers to all of life's hardest questions. It was simply to love the Lord with all my heart by setting my mind on a daily practice of falling in love with Jesus. It was then and there that the fog lifted and my purpose was discovered.
I exist to know God and to make Him known!
(Spoiler Alert: And so are you.)
Here’s the lesson, God will often reveal the answers we are looking for in places we never think to look. And those answers will be found at His feet, so do everything you can to get there.
I truly believe the closer we draw near to God the more likely we will hear Him say, “I’m so glad you’re here, let me show you your path.” Psalm 119:105 tells us “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.”
Life is so much better with The Fog Lifted.
Oh Lord, Draw me close to you. Never let me go. I love You and want to be in your presence. In Jesus Name, Amen
