Though the Earth Give Way, He Won't

Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.
Selah.
What was the miracle Jesus did that caused his disciples to fall to their knees and worship Him? It was when he calmed the storm and the raging sea. Even the winds and waves had to obey him. (Matthew 14:33) Just moments before they were in the middle of a terrifying scene. Nature was lashing out at them and everything was going wrong. The disciples had no control of this situation and when control is lost, a new level of fear is reached.
Can you relate?
The arrival of Jesus and the calming of the storm is a reminder of Psalm 46. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. My friend, you may be in a storm right now, but God's Word promises that you are not alone.
Every time you feel fear rise up because troubles keep crashing into you, let Psalm 46 wash over you and remind you of the presence of God in your life. For the disciples, Jesus literally stepped into their boat. For you, Jesus has spiritually stepped into your heart. He is with you. Don't just believe it, KNOW IT! Do. Not. Fear.
Your earth may be quaking right now and you may be standing at the base of an unmovable mountain, but none of that matters when God is in your midst. You may not be in control of your situation, but God always will be.
Selah...Be Still and Know that He is God. (Psalm 46:10)
In time your troubles will give way to your testimony, and soon you will be saying: Psalm 46:8 "Come behold the works of the Lord!" Always remember, when the earth gives way...He Won't!
